Airbnb Cleaning

What Is Airbnb Cleaning?

Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia, two industrial designers who recently relocated to San Francisco, founded Airbnb in 2008. At the time, the couple was unable to pay the loft's rent, so they decided to rent their apartment to people who couldn't find hotels to stay in while attending nearby trade shows. In the living room of the apartment, they made breakfast from scratch and set up air mattresses for their guests to sleep on. Airbnb has since established itself as one of the pioneers of peer-to-peer property rental.

Airbnb Host Requirements

There are also some basic Airbnb host requirements:

  • At least the essentials, if not more, should be provided to guests. Sheets, soap, toilet paper, and at least one towel and pillow for each guest are required. Anything else must be provided by you; If you want to get a good host rating, we recommend adding something extra!
  • You must respond quickly. Within 24 hours of receiving inquiries and reservation requests, respond to them.
  • Accept all reservation requests promptly. The sooner, the better!
  • Do not postpone. Host cancellations are taken very seriously by Airbnb. They are aware that accommodations are essential to travel plans, so it is strongly discouraged for them to cancel.
  • Keep a consistent, high level of quality to achieve a high rating.

What exactly is the Airbnb Enhanced Cleaning Initiative?

The five-point Airbnb host cleaning checklist is designed to effectively clean and disinfect your property. It is a system designed to uphold COVID-related cleaning standards and recognize vacation rental owners who go above and beyond to provide guests with clean and safe accommodations. Hosts who complete the quiz and the five-step procedure will receive a special cleaning highlight with the message "Committed to clean" on their Airbnb listing. These are the five points:

Prepare

Preparing for the clean is the first step toward an efficient and approved by Airbnb cleaning. It involves ensuring that you are employing high-quality cleaning supplies and that you have everything you require so that you do not have to enter and exit the property or move from room to room in search of the necessary supplies. This stage includes hand washing, wearing protective gear, and ventilating the rooms.

Clean

Understanding the distinction between cleaning and sanitizing is one of the main components of the Airbnb cleaning initiative. During the cleaning phase of this procedure, germs and dirt must be removed from the home's surfaces. It involves dusting, taking out the trash, washing all of the linens, wiping the counters, mopping and vacuuming the floors, doing the dishes, and taking out the trash. In preparation for sanitizing, cleaning is performed. This is the part of the cleaning process that takes the most time, but it's also probably the most important.

Sanitize

Cleaning your rental prevents germs from spreading. On the most frequently touched surfaces, such as doorknobs and light switches, disinfectant chemicals are used. Since a surface can only be sanitized when it is clean, it is critical to thoroughly clean it first. Find out how long the sanitizing chemicals should remain on a particular surface before wiping it down by reading the labels on your cleaning supplies. For best results, let sanitized surfaces air dry.

Check

Hosts can use the Airbnb cleaning checklists to go through each room and make sure everything is as it should be after it has been cleaned and disinfected. The cleaning handbook shows vacation rental owners and their cleaning crews how to thoroughly check their home twice. You can identify maintenance issues that need to be fixed during this inspection step and address common guest issues before they become problems.

Reset

There is one more thing that needs to be done to avoid cross-contamination after the house has been cleaned, sanitized, and checked. This essential step reduces the likelihood of transferring dirt, debris, and bacteria from one location to another and helps keep the germs contained. Before moving to another property, hosts can properly reset the house by cleaning out the vacuum and disposing of or washing their cleaning supplies. Set up cleaning supplies for the next guest and properly dispose of your protective gear. This last step is crucial to ensuring that your guests enter a safe, organized, and clean environment.
